Love for Monochromes

When I picked up oil pastels again after a break of almost a year, I decided to start simple. I was still in the phase of drawing by watching the videos posted by Art Arena on YouTube. I went through the channel and came across this very simple but impressive monochrome piece.
I picked this up and worked on it for about half an hour. Voila! It was ready and did not look bad at all for a complete amateur like me. I did not post it back then as I had not started this blog yet.
Due to the work-load (have ended up working more since this work from home thing started) and laziness afterwards, I haven't been able to draw since The Science of Deduction. I am going to resume this weekend. I'll keep you posted.

The Hooked Model

In Hooked, while introducing the concepts, Nir Eyal recounts how his research and observation of the most popular products in the market helped him come up with the Hooked Model. Below are some takeaways from the introduction chapter of this book.
  • Habits are defined as “behaviours done with little or no conscious thought.”
  • The convergence of access, data, and speed is making the world a more habit-forming place.
  • Businesses that create customer habit gain a significant competitive advantage.
  • The Hooked Model describes an experience designed to connect the user’s problem to a company’s product frequently enough to form a habit.
  • The Hooked Model has four phases: trigger, action, variable reward and investment.

Current Read: Hooked by Nir Eyal

Being an avid reader, I joined #Seclore's book club. Through this club, I have read some amazing titles in the last one year. This month's winner was Hooked by Nir Eyal. So far, I have read about two chapters. This book provides great insights into habit-forming products and introduces the reader to the Hook Model. I'm really excited to read on and complete this book. At the end of each chapter, I'll be sharing some pointers that will help you understand how to engage your customers and get them #hooked on your products.
